Summer time is open air time and what better place to shoot concerts than in such an environment - good music, great weather and fun people all around.
Since I live in the densest populated region in Germany called "Ruhrgebiet" there are a lot of music fanatics and a lot of venues that compete for an audience, which leads to a couple of "underground" open airs which offer high-class bands for free.
This weekend there was one in Essen called "Nord Open Air" - which took place the fourth consecutive year. And that day was the day that I got to shoot one of the most known band in Germany and in huge parts of Europe as well - "Die Apokalyptischen Reiter".
